Fair Trade "Direct" Coffee - Step 3 - The Roaster
This is where Fair Trade "Direct" and Fair Trade coffee separate on their respective journeys to the consumer in the United States and Europe. Fair Trade "Direct" coffee is roasted in Costa Rica and sold via the internet to consumers in the US. Coopepueblos sells approx. 1% of their coffee through this medium. The rest is exported to either the US or Europe through Coocafe, a Fair Trade certified exporter. We will be following both routes as the coffee makes its way out of Costa Rica.
